This is a case of no sugar added apple butter. We bought it today, to my great delight. We might go back and buy another one before they close for the season.
As a diabetic, it is frankly hard to find foods that taste sweet and delicious, but don’t make a wreck of your blood sugar. This apple butter has no added sugar(no sweetener at all except the apples and their juice), and only 5g of carbs per tablespoon. I can have some on my toast without worrying, and it seems to be without that crummy spike I get when I have sugar-sweetened jams and jellies. I still need to account for the carbs I eat (natural sugars are still sugars!), but I can enjoy a gentler affect on my blood glucose.
So why a case? Well, it’s important to me that I get to keep my little luxuries through the year, and the apple shop is only open from Sept. 1st to Dec. 31st. This stock has to last until September!
There is no cure for diabetes.

it is totally worth it! that stuff is delicious. i might move to bellingham come sept. 1 in large part for the apple butter! :)
